Day 1: Semonkong & Maletsunyane Falls Adventure
All Meals – Own Cost
After breakfast, we depart for Semonkong via Roma, home of the National University of Lesotho, where we will stop for a view of the university.
Without spending much time in this small town, we continue along the rugged mountain roads of Lesotho, stopping for scenic photographs as we make our way to Semonkong, known as “The Place of Smoke.”
Semonkong is home to the spectacular Maletsunyane Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in Southern Africa at 204 m. Upon arrival, we enjoy lunch at the lodge (own cost). After lunch, we begin a series of outdoor activities, including visiting Maletsunyane Falls and exploring a nearby village.
Local entertainment, such as a traditional choir performance, can also be arranged.
Overnight: Semonkong Lodge
Day 2: Mohale Dam & Highlands Experience
Breakfast
After breakfast, the group boards the vehicle and journeys to Mohale Dam, part of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. Here, we will enjoy spectacular activities such as boating and a guided dam tour.
A mouth-watering lunch will be served upon arrival at Mohale Lodge, followed by time to relax after a day filled with adventure. Frequent stops will be made en route to capture photographs of the breathtaking mountain landscapes and passes.
Overnight: Mohale Lodge
Day 3: Katse Dam Scenic Tour
Breakfast
Early in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we continue our journey over scenic mountain passes toward Katse Dam.
Upon arrival, we take a guided scenic tour of the dam. The view of the Katse Dam is spectacular, with flooded valleys stretching approximately 45 km. A guided tour of the dam wall, a visit to the information office, and the Katse Botanical Garden will be arranged. Boating can also be enjoyed if operational.
After a long and enjoyable day of exploration and photography, we relax and enjoy dinner at the lodge.
