Lesotho Overland – 2 Nights / 3 Days

Day 1: Maseru – Mafeteng – Mohale’s Hoek – Quthing – Qacha’s Nek
All Meals – Own Cost
After breakfast, we depart from Maseru via Mafeteng and travel to Quthing through Mohale’s Hoek. Along the way, we will make a stop to visit the famous Motlejoa Caves. The journey then continues along the Mt. Moorosi Road to Quthing, overlooking magnificent sandstone gorges.
We will also stop to visit the dinosaur footprints and Ellenberger’s Cave House, an important historical site in the region.
Thereafter, we continue to Qacha’s Nek, where we will enjoy a relaxed evening and dinner.

Day 2: Lesotho Highlands – Sehlabathebe Area
Breakfast Included
After breakfast, we travel through the mountain passes of the Lesotho Highlands, heading toward the Sehlabathebe area. The park covers approximately 6,500 hectares at an average elevation of 2,400 meters.
This region is particularly important and fascinating for those interested in bird watching and alpine flora. Visitors may spot hardy mountain buck, small mammals, abundant birdlife, and diverse Cape alpine flora.
Upon arrival in the Sehlabathebe area, we will explore the surroundings and may embark on activities such as hiking and pony trekking, depending on accessibility due to the park’s closure.
After a full day of adventure and exploration, we settle into a local lodge for dinner.
Overnight at Letloepe Lodge
Day 3: Qacha’s Nek – Eastern Cape – Durban
Breakfast Included
After breakfast, we depart for the Qacha’s Nek Border Post and exit Lesotho into South Africa’s Eastern Cape via Matatiele. We then continue traveling toward Durban.
Arrival in Durban is expected in the late afternoon for onward flights.

General Information – Lesotho Overland Tours
Every guest on this tour will be traveling through rural and largely unspoiled African terrain. Therefore, it is necessary to travel with a flexible and open-minded attitude.
Accommodations, bathroom facilities, and meals are, in most places, very basic, simple, and rustic.
Most lunch stops are based on packed lunches or picnic meals.
Toilet facilities along the route are very limited or, in some areas, unavailable.
We reserve the right to alter routes or itineraries should circumstances such as weather conditions, road conditions, or unforeseen obstacles require it.
Some accommodations use generators for electricity, which are switched off at 22:00, and gas geysers provide hot water.
Please note: Katse Dam Lodge has 8 double rooms, 6 single rooms, and flats that can accommodate up to 12 people. Some rooms share bathrooms (for example, Rooms 1 and 2 share a bathroom).
