Lesotho Overland – 2 Nights / 3 Days
Day 1: Matsieng – Morija – Malealea
All Meals – Own Cost
After breakfast, the group will take a 45-minute drive to the Morija Museum & Archives (where cultural items, historical artifacts, and archives are preserved) via Matsieng, the place of origin of the royal family. The group will then continue with a short 15-minute drive to Morija, a historic destination known for its rich heritage and as the home of the oldest church in the country.
The tour will proceed to Malealea, one of Lesotho’s well-known pony trekking centers. Upon arrival in Malealea, the group will embark on village activities such as visiting the local school and taking a guided walk through the village, interacting with local community members.
The famous traditional Sangoma (traditional healer/herbalist) will also be visited for consultation. Basotho ponies will be on standby for those who wish to explore nearby waterfalls on horseback. A local band can also be arranged for evening entertainment while dinner is being served.
Overnight at Malealea Lodge
Day 2: Malealea – Mohale’s Hoek – Quthing – Lake Letsie

After breakfast, we board our vehicle and head to Quthing via Mohale’s Hoek, where we will make a stop to visit the famous Motlejoa Caves and enjoy a view of the town. The journey continues along the Mt. Moorosi road to Quthing, overlooking magnificent sandstone gorges.
This is a full day’s drive, during which you may see dinosaur footprints and visit Ellenberger’s Cave House. We will also visit Lake Letsie, located on the outskirts of Quthing, to complete our day’s exploration.
Dinner and overnight will be at a local hotel.
Overnight at Mountain Lodge
Day 3: Quthing – Maseru
Breakfast Included
After breakfast, we depart for Maseru, where the tour concludes.
Alternatively, an additional night can be arranged, with a transfer to Maseru Airport the following day.

General Information – Lesotho Overland Tours
Every guest on this tour will be traveling through rural and largely unspoiled African terrain. Therefore, it is necessary to travel with a flexible and open-minded attitude.
Accommodations, bathroom facilities, and meals are, in most places, very basic, simple, and rustic.
Most lunch stops are based on packed lunches or picnic meals.
Toilet facilities along the route are very limited or, in some areas, unavailable.
We reserve the right to alter routes or itineraries should circumstances such as weather conditions, road conditions, or unforeseen obstacles require it.
Some accommodations use generators for electricity, which are switched off at 22:00, and gas geysers for hot water supply.
Please note: Katse Dam Lodge has 8 double rooms, 6 single rooms, and flats that can accommodate up to 12 people. Some rooms share bathrooms (for example, Rooms 1 and 2 share a bathroom).
