Day 1: Must say to add another day, as the tour is mainly for those that haven't got the time schedule and want it all in a nutshell!!
This tour takes us into the Leribe district via the small town of TY, home of handicraft centres. After shopping in TY, we continue with our journey to the place of the Major Bells Tower in Leribe, the fortifications that were built by the British at the end of the 1870s and were besieged but not captured during the Gun War of 1880. The Tower is still largely intact. Visitors can see an interesting primitive statue of a European in front of a nearby local administration office.
More crafts centres in the Leribe district will also be visited for variety and to be spoiled for choice.
The tour continues to the heritage site to see the Dinosaur Footprints. We then depart to the magnificent Katse Dam via Bokong Nature Reserve. We will visit Bokong en route, which is a nature reserve of beauty and serenity.
The journey then continues to Katse Dam, on arrival the group will have a relaxed evening and dinner at Katse Lodge
Day 2: Dam Tour
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge and take a scenic tour of the dam. The view of Katse Dam is incredible as the flooded valleys go on for 45km. A guided tour of the dam, visiting the information office and the Katse Botanical Garden will be arranged. Boating can also be explored. After lunch, we get in our vehicle and return via the previous day's drive, on the road back to Maseru.
