Lesotho Overland 2 Nights / 3 Days
Day 1: All Meals-Own Cost!
Depart Maseru or the airport after breakfast, we start with our tour by going to TY the capital city of Berea where we will hop for crafts and then proceed to Ha Kome cave dwellings in the Berea district. They have been declared a national heritage and original families are still dwelling in them.
The journey will then continue to Thaba-Bosiu; this is where the Basotho nation was born. The name is Thaba-Bosiu means 'Mountain at Night'. This is where you will get a cultural and heritage experience and get a clear insight into how King Moshoeshoe 1 and his people moved from Mekhoaneng to Thaba-Bosiu and why they decided to settle there.
After lunch, we jump into our car and head towards Roma, the home of the National University of Lesotho where we will stop for a view of the university, bird watching, and a series of photographs. Without wasting much time in this small city, we pass on and travel through the rugged roads of Lesotho while taking scenery photos along the way as we head to Semonkong, known as “A place of Smoke”.
Semonkong is the home of Maletsunyane Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in the whole of Southern Africa at 204m. We are going to arrive at Semonkong in the evening, where a group will have relaxed local entertainment at a dinner table after a long road trip.
