Day 1: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Breakfast at the Hotel; depart at 9h00 for Thaba Bosiu where the famous battle took place, it is where King Shaka Zulu was conquered by King Moshoeshoe. That’s where the conical hat comes from. Then we will view the information and craft center at Thaba Boosiu, we will visit King Letsie at his place (PLEASE NO PHOTOGRAPHS ALLOWED AT PALACE).
Then proceed to Roma, the city of Roma is the principal center of the Roman Catholic Church in Lesotho and since 1964 the site of the National University of Lesotho. Roma was founded in 1862 when King Moshoeshoe granted Bishop Allard and his father Gerard the site. From Roma, we will proceed to Morija village and have lunch at Morija Guest House.
After lunch, we will visit the Morija Museum with its collection of Bushmen Art, dinosaur prints, books, clay pots, fossils, old tools used by various triples, and explanations. The modern craft center is housed in the oldest building in Morija, where you may purchase a variety of tapestries, mohair shoals, souvenirs, etc. Then we double back our route to Maseru. Dinner at Maseru Sun.
