Pick-up at the hotel/ airport, then immediately be transferred to Semonkong known as 'The Place of Smoke'. The place boasts the spectacular Maletsunyane Falls which thunder from a height of 204m, and is one of the highest single-drop waterfalls in Africa. The journey will be explored through the rugged mountains of Lesotho with experienced guides.

Maletsunyane Falls is a 192-metre-high (630 ft) waterfall in the Southern African country Lesotho. It is located near the town of Semonkong (The site of smoke), which also is named after the falls. The waterfall is on the Maletsunyane River and it falls from a ledge of Triassic-Jurassic basalt.

The plunging water creates a reverberating echo when it contacts the basin of the falls, and local legend has it that the sound comes from the wailing of people who have drowned in the falls.

In December 2017, the Australian YouTube channel How Ridiculous broke the record for the world's highest basketball shot at Maletsunyane Falls. This record stood until May 2023, when Dude Perfect broke the record with a shot from 885ft from The Strat in Las Vegas. The Maletsunyane Falls' first Guinness Record was for the "World's longest commercially operated abseil", managed by Semonkong, with a height of 204 m (669 ft). 2 Nights spent at the lodge, first-day training for preparations of the 204 meters single drop.

Try this 6.9-km out-and-back trail near Semonkong Community, Maseru. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2.30 -3 hours to complete- a circular route. This is a very popular area for hiking, horseback riding, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.
