Departure in the morning in 4x4 vehicles to the World Heritage Site of Umkhahlamba Drakensberg Park, following the Mkomazana River up the scenic Sani Valley to the South African Border post(Border formalities). We continue up the Sani Pass, viewing the Hodgon's Peaks and the Giants Cup. Climing to an altitude of 2,874m and zizag upwards beneath towering cliffs, buttereses, past waterfalls and unique flora and birdlife. After having completed the border formalities at the Lesotho Border we arrive at the Sani Stone Lodge(6km into Lesotho) and the Highest Pub in Africa (2,874m) .

We offload the mountain bikes, have lunch at Sani Stone Lodge and cycle back down the Sani Pass or for those that are very fit! You have a choice of mountain biking up and down?

Enjoy a superb view on the Sani Valley.

We off-load the bicycles and enjoy the ride down the legendary Sani Pass back.

General Information - Lesotho Overland Tours

Every guest on tour is entering a rural and unspoiled African terrain. Therefore it is necessary to travel with a flexible and tolerant mind.
Accomodations, bathroom facilities and meals are at most places very basic, simple and rustic.
Most lunch stops base on the packed lunches or picnic meals.
There are no toilet facilites on route or very seldom.
We reserve the right to alter any routes or itineraries should circumstances, like weather, road confitions, unforeseen obstacles etc. so demand.
Some accomodations use generators for the supply of electricity, which switches off at 22:00, and gas geysers for hot water supply.
