After breakfast, the group will take a 45min drive to Morija museum (where cultural items, historical artifacts and archives are kept) via Matsieng, where the royal family originates. The group will then take a 15min drive to Morija, a historic destination where cultural items, historical artifacts and archives are kept. Morija has the oldest church in the country.
The tour will then continue to Malealea (a pony trekking centre in Lesotho). On arrival at Malealea, the group will embark on the day village activities such as visiting the local school and taking a tour through the village where they will interact with the local villagers. The famous traditional Sangoma (traditional healer/herbalist) will also be visited for consultation. Basotho ponies will be on stand by for those who want to explore the nearby waterfalls on a horse ride. The local band can also be arranged for evening entertainment while dinner is being served.
After breakfast, we get in our vehicle and head to Quthing via Mohale’s Hoek where we will make a stopover to visit the famous Motlejoa Caves and have a view of the town. The road will then continue along the Mt Moorosi road to Quthing, overlooking magnificent sandstone gorges. We will make a stopover for dinner and overnight at a local hotel. This is a full day’s drive during which you can see dinosaur footprints and Ellenberger’s cave house. Lake Letsie on the out-skirts of Quthing will be visited to complete our tour.
After breakfast, we depart for Maseru where the tour will end.
